The Lakeland Christian Academy Athletic Director should possess an authentic relationship with Christ, understand the significant challenge and responsibility of serving as a leader and mentor, and have successful experience in working with culturally diverse families and students in a competitive environment. The Athletic Director leads, supervises and manages the athletic department, consisting of 14+ teams in 8 sports within the Varsity, Middle School, and Elementary programs.
Accountability:
The Athletic Director reports to the Head of School.
This position interacts with internal and external constituents including students, parents, faculty, coaching staff, administration, local Athletic Associations and individuals in the community.

Preferred: 3 years of successful administrative and leadership experience

Ability to serve as an educational leader including the ability to plan, organize, and facilitate master campus planning and processes, community service projects, and athletic games and school wide events.

Overall Responsibility & Duties:
Oversee and administer all aspects of athletic student life, K-12
Manage the Varsity, Middle School and Elementary programs, including the direct supervision of all coaches.
Working with the Head of School in preparing and overseeing the athletic budget and all athletic expenditures
Working with the Head of School to hire qualified, competent, Christian coaches
Provide training and spiritual curriculum development for all coaches to ensure Biblical integration into all sports programs
Organizes and monitors all athletic fundraising activities
Provide leadership and position training for all coaches and facility staff members each quarter
Establish and promote positive relationships with the media, state association and opponents
Demonstrate leadership that helps spectators recognize the values we desire in all we do at LCA
Evaluate all coaches and teams at conclusion of season
Handle all correspondence for Athletic Department including the updates of the website
Ensure school adheres to the standards set by the Athletic Associations and operates within all school policies
Monitors and enforce rules regarding student fees for participation in athletics
Coordinates athletic and facility calendar in conjunction with the church and school master calendar
Ensure eligibility of students for each sport
Represent the school the Athletic Association trainings and meetings
Provide oversight to the Booster Club/Sport Parent Groups
Ensure setup and supervision for all home games
Ensure the provision of athletic uniforms/equipment for each sport in accordance with budget and procedures
Arrange transportation for all athletic events, including CDL driver, as needed
Provide conflict resolution as required with coaches, parents or students
Establish, conduct and maintain position descriptions and evaluations for all athletic and facility staff
Ensure all staff members and coaches obtain and maintain required certifications
Overseeing all coaches in regard to student supervision
Ensure the athletic handbook is developed and updated annually
Inventory all athletic and facility equipment
Serve as a driver for school related functions in ministry owned vehicles when needed
To lead by activity and example, to develop, organize, supervise and evaluate the entire program of intramural (in the future) and interscholastic athletics for the entire school.
To ensure that all coaches are performing their duties at the very highest level of professionalism.
To ensure that all coaching positions are filled with competent coaches who are in alignment with the school’s mission.
To ensure the proper maintenance and security of all athletic equipment and athletic facilities, fields and courts.
To organize (and submit to the Head of School) regular information on the various programs for public recognition of athletic achievements.
To provide the scheduling of all athletic contests, arrange for athletic transportation, and hire all game officials.
To maintain records of team and individual athletic accomplishments and submit
To create, maintain and revise a coaches’ profile each year and set up appropriate meetings with the coaches to review the information and standards in detail.
To oversee the distribution, collection, cleaning, repair, and storage of all athletic
To ensure the health and safety of all students in the athletic program
To perform other duties as assigned by the Head of School to support the school and its leadership including classroom instruction and coaching as directed.
