North Middlesex Regional High School is seeking a dedicated and supportive Assistant Cross Country Coach to work alongside the Head Coach in leading both the boys and girls cross country teams. The assistant coach will help provide a positive, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate experience for student-athletes, with an emphasis on fitness, discipline, sportsmanship, and academic balance. Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in organizing and conducting daily practices focused on endurance, strength, and technique.
• Help monitor progress and encourage athletes to achieve personal and team goals.
• Provide individualized support and guidance for runners at all skill levels.
• Foster a positive and inclusive team environment that emphasizes teamwork and character.
• Serve as a mentor and role model, promoting good sportsmanship and perseverance.
• Support student-athletes in balancing academics with athletics.
• Help with meet preparation, logistics, and athlete supervision during competitions.
• Encourage athletes during races and assist with post-race evaluation and recovery.

Qualifications:

• Experience in distance running or coaching cross country.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Positive attitude and ability to work collaboratively.
• Must meet all NFHS and MIAA coaching certification requirements.
