Job Overview
Lakeside School, an independent 5-12 coeducational day school located in North Seattle is currently recruiting for a Head Varsity Girls Basketball Coach starting no later than June 1, 2025. A youth camp, run by this coach, and team activities are planned for late June/early July. The official season begins on Monday, November 17, 2025 with the state tournament ending on Saturday, March 7, 2026. Responsibilities:
  • Compliance with all Lakeside School, Metro League, CYO, and WIAA policies and procedures.
  • Commitment to providing supports, messaging, actions, and opportunities to a diverse student body who come to school with different and evolving lived experiences and levels of preparation as athletes.
  • Supervision and instruction of student-athletes during team activities.
  • Maintenance and inventory of team equipment and apparel.
  • Management of the team budget and hiring processes.
  • Development of the long-term vision for the boys basketball program (scope & sequence);
  • Oversight of practice plans and culture setting for all teams.
  • Commitment to being a presence on campus all year.
  • Support of multi-sport participation for student-athletes.
Qualifications:
  • At least 25 years of age, have a clean driving record and a valid Washington state driver’s license.
  • Be available for all practices and competitions from 3 pm daily during their coaching season with availability on weekends as required.
  • Experience coaching basketball at the club, high school or college level is required.
  • Possess or obtain prior to the start of the season current First Aid/CPR certification.
  • Satisfactorily complete two criminal background checks.
