Job Overview
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Organize and supervise athletic events, including home games, tournaments, and fundraisers.
  • Maintain records of equipment, physicals, scheduling, and other relevant information.
  • Ensure adherence to athletic rules, regulations, and policies, including Title IX.
  • Assist with facility schedules, maintenance, and use.
  • Maintain communication with coaches, staff, student-athletes, parents, and the community.
  • Manage all concession stand locations.
  • Oversee game officials, game-day music, and any setup and tear down needed for the game day or events.
  • Hiring, training, and supervising game-day student employees.
  • Build relationships with the local community.
  • Coordinate media coverage for athletic events and provide announcers' scripts for PA for special events.
  • Perform other duties as required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
  • A clear understanding and commitment to the Reformed perspective and mission of Dordt University and ability to clearly articulate and communicate the mission effectively.•
  • Ability to express an active Christian commitment, which shall include identification with a local organized church that holds to beliefs that are consistent with the mission of the university.

  • A bachelor's degree is preferred in a relevant field (i.e., Sports Managment, Physical Education), or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience as a student-athlete or coach is preferred.
  • Strong leadership qualities are essential for managing teams and fostering a positive athletic environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are needed to interact with student-athletes, coaches, and other stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills are required to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a teamis also essential.
