Job Overview
Qualifications:
- Current Alabama Teacher’s Certification (preferred) or classified dependent upon qualifications of the person holding the position.
- Previous Experience in sports as a participant and/or coach (preferred) but not required.
- Completion of all requirements set forth by the AHSAA Coaches’ Education Program.
- Must have or be willing to obtain CDL.
- Substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of softball and a willingness to examine new theories and procedures.
- To instruct student-athletes in the fundamental skills, strategies, and physical conditioning necessary for them to realize a degree of individual and team success.
- To work with the athletic director in accomplishing the mission and goals of the athletic department.
- Instruct athletes in fundamentals, develop character, model expected behavior.
- Ability to work with players, parents, administration and other coaches.
- To adhere to the MPS Athletics Code of Ethics and Conduct for Sports Coaches.
- Attend the AHSAA sponsored rules clinic for his/her sport.
