Job Overview
The Head Coach is a key individual in the MCAS athletic program. The Head Coach is responsible for promoting the highest type of conduct from each athlete.
Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Oversee the total sport program, K-12, with the assistance of the assistant coaches and provide guidance to all coaching staff.
- Communicate with the Athletic Director.
- Organize, plan, and coach all activities and practices.
- Attend all required Athletic Department, DAC and IHSAA meetings.
- Provides documentation in regards to physicals; consent; rosters; awards; eligibility; emergency medical forms; and any other required information in the time frame set forth by the Athletic Department.
- Complete the IHSAA/NFHS coach certification program.
- Monitor academic performance and assist with college opportunities.
- Lead fundraising effort for sport program.
- Assumes duties which the Athletic Director or Principal deem necessary for the improvement of the program.
- Be present at all practices and contests, providing assistance, guidance, and safeguards for each participant. Ensure that athletes are supervised at all times.
