Position Criteria:
- Certified Coaching Endorsement or Authorization.
- Demonstrate aptitude for performing tasks listed.
- Must exhibit ethical practices, and be a role model to students.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
- Formulate objectives for the sport season as it would pertain to player personnel and assistant coaching responsibilities.
- Keep abreast of new ideas and techniques by attending clinics and workshops, reading in the field and encouraging assistant coaches to do the same.
- Be knowledgeable of rules and regulations concerning his/her sport and changes which occur.
- Inventory, selection, care and maintenance of equipment.
- Assist athletic director with proper registration of all athletes at beginning of the season.
- Collect necessary fees.
- Assist athletic director in compiling eligibility lists and other reports.
- Arrange for systematic issuance of school equipment.
- Make sure all athletes have physicals.
- Assume supervisory control over all phases of teams in the program.
- Organize and schedule practice sessions on a regular basis with the idea of developing the athlete’s greatest potential.
- Apply discipline in a firm and positive manner.
- See that facility regulations are understood and enforced.
- Conduct oneself and teams in an ethical manner during practice and in contests.
