Job Overview
As a part-time Assistant Men’s Lacrosse Coach in NJIT's intercollegiate athletic program, the incumbent will be responsible for assisting the Head Coach with functions relating to the management and running of a successful Division I Men’s Lacrosse program. Specific emphasis is on coaching. NJIT is a member of the America East Conference.
Essential Functions:
- Assist with the organization and preparation of individual and team practices, training and competition.
- Assist in the identification and recruitment of prospective student-athletes in accordance with NCAA rules, and NJIT institutional admissions standards.
- Ensure that all appropriate safety guidelines and standards are maintained during team training and practices.
- Strive to provide guidance and assistance in enhancing a student-athlete's welfare regarding his personal, academic and athletic experience while at NJIT.
- Perform constant evaluation of team and individual performances.
- Work with athletic training staff as needed for prevention and care of player injuries and other health related issues.
- A Bachelor’s Degree is required; Minimum of 2 years of coaching experience on the intercollegiate level or elite club level or high level collegiate playing experience.
- Comprehensive knowledge of NCAA rules, regulations and compliance issues; excellent communication and conflict resolution skills.
- Demonstrated leadership ability.
- Successful completion of background check.
- At the university's discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may be exempted where the candidate can demonstrate to the satisfaction of the university, an equivalent combination of education and experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position.
