Job Overview
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provides Head Coach with information pertaining to program such as scores, schedules, sites, discipline concerns, procedures, and inventory of supplies and equipment.
- Schedules and attend practices, develops and implements individual/team training plan by the day, week, month, season, as appropriate for their level in conjunction with the overall program goals.
- Makes sure each athlete is cleared from the athletic office to participate in practices and games.
- Monitors athletes attendance, behavior, and academic status.
- Understands the signs and symptoms of injuries such as a concussion and removes players that are exhibiting signs and symptoms of injury.
- Encourages student athletes to set and maintain high standards of behavior on the field and off.
- Engage with the parents of the members of the football team in a positive and constructive manner.
- Attends and participates in scheduled staff and team meetings.
- Collaborates with other Assistant Coaches in a productive, respectful manner.
- The Assistant Coaches report to the Head Coach and the Athletic Director.
- Demonstration of current knowledge of strength and conditioning programs for football.
- Assist with the organization and development of the high school football program.
- Must be team-oriented, hands-on, and passionate about sports.
- Prior coaching experience desired.
