The Varsity Head Basketball Coach is responsible for leading, mentoring, and developing student-athletes on the varsity basketball team. This role includes planning and implementing training programs, organizing competitive play, and fostering a positive and competitive team environment. The coach will work closely with players, assistant coaches, and school administration to ensure the team’s success both on and off the court. Qualifications:

• Previous high school or collegiate level coaching experience, preferred
• Strong knowledge of basketball techniques, strategies, and Northview High School and Michigan High School Athletic Association (MHSAA)
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes.
• Certification in CPR, AED and First aid and CPR or willingness to complete upon hire.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement a comprehensive training and practice schedule.
• Conduct regular practices and drills to enhance player skills and team cohesion.
• Develop game strategies and make tactical decisions during games.
• Organize and manage team travel, including transportation and accommodation if necessary.
• Assess individual players’ skills and provide personalized feedback and improvement plans.
• Foster an environment that promotes teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship.
• Mentor and support players’ academic and personal growth.
