Job Overview
Essential Duties and Responsibilities/Functions:
- Provide for the overall health and wellness of all participants in intercollegiate athletics
- Prepare the student athletes for each practice and game by exercising, preventative taping and bandaging, and providing guidance relative to the team warm-up.
- Coordinate with Team Physician in conducting physical examinations for athletes, oversight of athletic injury clinics, and facilitating an athletic injury clearing house.
- Act as the school’s on-site medical representative at all home athletic events and away football games.
- Secure bid proposals, place orders, and maintain inventory of sport medicine supplies and modalities.
- Maintain records on student-athletes including health physicals, emergency contact information, and injury and rehabilitation documentation.
- Keep up with all continuing education classes required to maintain licensure.
- Remain active in professional organizations to remain current on new standards and techniques.
- Assist the athletic director on projects as necessary.
- Bachelor’s degree from an NATABOC accredited program is required. Master’s degree in a related field preferred.
- Must be BOC certified and possess Pennsylvania state athletic training licensure or qualified to apply for PA state licensure.
- Current CPR/AED certification
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
