Job Overview
Lincoln Public Schools is seeking a full-time Assistant Athletic Director to assist the Athletic Director in supervising the High School and Middle School athletic programs in coordination with the LHS Principal, LMS Principal, Superintendent and the School Committee. The Assistant Athletic Director will provide administrative support for the planning, direction, implementation, supervision, and assessment of the interscholastic programs for the Lincoln Public Schools. RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Administer interscholastic policies and procedures according to the rules of the Rhode Island Interscholastic League & Rhode Island Principal’s Committee on Athletics.
  • Assist the Athletic Director in establishing clear goals and direction for the athletic program.
  • Work with all stakeholders to deliver quality athletic programs.
  • Maintain paperwork required by the RIIL & RIPCOA and confirm student-athlete eligibility and coach eligibility for all interscholastic programs.
  • Collaborate with the School Nurse to verify that student athletes are cleared for play and monitor Return to Play protocols for all student-athletes.
  • Assist with scheduling of games/events for LHS and LMS athletic programs.
  • Assist in the recruitment, selection, assignment, and training of coaches and staff.
  • Assist with the development and oversight of the athletic budget.
  • Maintain and oversee athletic equipment and uniform inventory.
  • Organize and update the Lincoln Public Schools Athletics website.
  • Maintain and update athletic social media accounts (Twitter, Instagram, etc.).
  • Assist in arranging transportation for all athletic teams.
  • Arrange athletic training services and coverage for all home contests and post season contests.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in sports management, athletic administration, or related field from an accredited college or university.
  • rSchoolToday experience a plus, or similar scheduling/registration software experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience working effectively with coaching staff and athletic programs at interscholastic or collegiate level.
  • Strong analytical, administrative, and multitasking skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
