Job Overview
Clinton High School is seeking a motivated and knowledgeable Assistant Volleyball Coach to support the Head Coach in all aspects of the girls' volleyball program. The ideal candidate will be passionate about volleyball, dedicated to student-athlete development, and committed to fostering a positive and competitive team environment. This position will assist in developing players' skills, implementing game strategies, and upholding the values and standards of Clinton High School Athletics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Head Coach in planning, organizing, and conducting practices and training sessions.
- Provide individual and group instruction to players on fundamental skills, techniques, and game strategies.
- Help develop and implement offensive and defensive game plans.
- Assist in scouting opponents and preparing game strategies accordingly.
- Be present and actively coach during all practices, games, and team events.
- Foster a positive and supportive team environment that encourages sportsmanship, leadership, and academic success.
- Motivate and mentor student-athletes to reach their full potential both on and off the court.
- Assist in monitoring academic progress of student-athletes in conjunction with school policies.
- Previous coaching experience in volleyball at the high school level or higher is preferred.
- Playing experience in volleyball at the high school, collegiate, or club level is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of volleyball fundamentals, techniques, rules, and strategies.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes.
- Commitment to positive coaching principles and ethical conduct.
- Must be able to pass a background check and meet all requirements for school district employment.
- First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
