Job Overview
The Head Coach, Women’s Swimming position is responsible for conducting a successful women’s swimming program within the policies and rules as established by the NCAA, the BIG EAST Conference and Marquette University.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct on and off campus student-athlete recruiting efforts: initiate contact with prospective student-athletes; arrange meetings, campus visits, etc. for potential recruit.
- Plan drills and activities for each practice session to ensure continued development of student-athlete.
- Instruct and work with student-athletes on an on-going basis that ensures they are developing in a way that strengthens their swimming skills.
- Work with Sports Performance staff to ensure a structured strength and conditioning program for the student-athletes to increase agility, strength and endurance and mental toughness.
- Develop a competitive season on an annual basis that provide student-athletes to compete and be successful at the Division 1 level.
- Responsible for the supervision of staff which includes but is not limited to hiring, terming, disciplinary actions, performance management, staff development, etc.
- Work with Athletics Business staff to develop and manage the program’s annual operating budget and excellence fund.
- Work with Academic and Student Services staff to ensure each student-athlete maintains good academic standing.
- At least 3 years of previous experience coaching swimming at the collegiate level.
- Previous head coaching experience.
- Experience at the Division 1 level.
