Job Overview
The Assistant/JV Softball Coach is responsible for assisting in the direction of all phases of a nationally competitive softball program in accordance with Barry University, the Sunshine State Conference, and NCAA DII regulations. Responsible for supporting the Head Coach by providing individual instruction and teaching softball.
Essential Functions:

Assists the head coach with instructing/ teaching student-athletes in the rules, regulations, and techniques of softball.

Organizes and directs individual and small group practice activities/exercises as directed by the head coach.

Assists the head coach with supervising student-athletes during practices and competitions.

Follows established procedures in the event of an athlete’s injury.

Teaches assigned fundamentals and skills during practice and games.

Assesses players’ skills and keeps the head coach informed of the athletic performance of students.

Models professional behavior and maintains appropriate conduct towards players, officials, and spectators. Become proficient in data analytics, AWRE cameras, and any additional technology used for the softball program.

A Bachelor's degree in any discipline is required. A Master's degree is preferred.

1-3 years of relevant experience.

General knowledge of MS Word & Outlook.

Adept at written and oral communications.
