The Associate Head Track & Field Coach / Assistant Cross Country Coach - Throws will partner with the Director of Cross Country / Track and Field in various areas of responsibility including the recruitment of student-athletes, meet-day organization, ordering equipment, viable fund-raising, public relations and other duties as assigned by either the Director or Director of Athletics.
Responsibilities:
- Help create an overall positive and successful environment for the student-athletes of the cross country and track and field programs.
- Help foster a team culture that is focused and driven to succeed academically and athletically, while serving the community.
- Provide oversight and evaluation of the daily progress of the throws student-athletes, including strength training, conditioning, and student-athlete academic, personal, and athletic development.
- Assist in planning and implementation of practice, competitions, travel, equipment, paperwork, and any other administrative duties set forth by the Director of Cross Country and Track & Field.
- Recruit prospective student-athletes in compliance with NCAA and college policies and procedures.
- Works collaboratively with other members of the coaching staff and athletic department as a whole.
- Assist other staff members with activities as needed to reach the overall competitive and recruitment goals.
- Monitor the academic progress and development of student-athletes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Current First Aid, CPR and AED training.
- Competitive coaching background.
- Must have a strong commitment to safety and welfare of student-athletes.
- Ability to work on weekends, evenings, and odd hours.
- College-level coaching experience preferred.
- Area of expertise in the throwing events.
