The Head Coach for the Iowa Flyers Swim Club serves as a valued member of the Recreational Services team, overseeing the operations, programming, and administration for the Recreational Services Iowa Flyers Club (IFLY).

Required Qualifications:

1. A master's degree in related field or an equivalent combination of related education and experience is necessary.
2. Related Experience (typically a minimum of 3 years).
3. Coaching experience (typically 1-3 years) with competitive swimmers of multiple age groups and ability levels in a USA Swimming (or international equivalent), YMCA, high school, or collegiate environment.
4. Demonstrated experience creating and maintaining a welcoming and respectful environment.
5. Demonstrated working knowledge and proficiency in use of Microsoft Office software applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
6. Work requires a willingness to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and travel.

Desirable Qualifications:

1. Advanced coaching experience (typically 3 years or move) with competitive swimmers of multiple age groups and ability levels in a USA Swimming setting.
2. Experience (typically 6 months of more) with swim club administration including budgeting, supervision, team travel, scheduling, policy development, and other responsibilities related to swim club management.
3. Experience (typically 6 months of more) in aquatic facility management.
4. Knowledge of or experience with structured dryland strength/conditioning programs.
5. Experience using Team Unify swimming team management program.
6. Experience using Hy-Tek Team Manager and Meet Manager
7. Experience operating a swim timing system (i.e., Daktronics, Colorado Time System, Omega, etc.)
