Job Overview
The Middle School Athletic/Activities Director is to provide students with an opportunity to participate in extracurricular activities that will foster physical skills, a sense of worth and competence, a knowledge and understanding of the pleasures of sport and extracurricular activity, and the principles of fair play. This is a Part-Time position.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Organize and administers the overall program of extracurricular activities for the middle school in order to ensure continuity and consistency within and between each extracurricular activity.
- Provide leadership in the selection, assignment and evaluation of athletic coaches and assists the principal in the selection, assignment and evaluation of sponsors.
- Foster good school-community relations by keeping the community aware of and responsive to the extracurricular activities program.
- Serve as district liaison with various parent and community extracurricular activity groups and clubs including, but not limited to, athletics, vocal and instrumental music and cheerleading.
- Assume responsibility for the organization and scheduling of all athletic events and oversee the organization and scheduling of other extracurricular events.
- Schedule the use of facilities for practice sessions, games, activities and school functions.
- Assist in the development of and supervise compliance with all appropriate rules and regulations governing the administration of extracurricular activities.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum: Bachelor’s Degree; coaching or event experience
- Preferred: Current salaried employee within the district. Previous successful, positive head coaching experience.
- An ideal candidate will have a professional and friendly demeanor, positive and effective communication skills and previous experience as an athletic director.
