The Head Baseball Coach will provide leadership for the Southern Nazarene University Baseball Program. While leading all aspects of the SNU Baseball Program, they will play an integral role in day-to-day administrative responsibilities, player/team spiritual development, daily team training, evaluation and recruitment of student-athletes, academic monitoring, budget ownership, and skill development of players.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Recruit NCAA Division II level Baseball student-athletes ensuring timely submission of their academic records for admissions.
2. Direct Assistant Coaches and Graduate Assistants in the overall planning and execution of the intercollegiate Baseball program.
3. Work with Financial Aid and Compliance to determine accurate communication and implementation of scholarship awards.
4. Monitor academic progress and progress towards graduation of student-athletes, implementing action plans through appropriate staff when needed.
5. Monitor Chapel attendance and lead by example with regular attendance.
6. Monitor and maintain the discipline and conduct of student-athletes to support the image and reputation of SNU Baseball and SNU Athletics.
7. Plan the coaching and practice sessions in accordance NCAA DII guidelines.
8. Coach team members individually and in groups.
9. Develop and implement game strategy and position assignments.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Southern Nazarene University is an expression of the Church of the Nazarene. 2. An understanding of the importance of diversity, inclusion and equity.
3. They need to possess strong character traits and ministry values that express what God can do through them in impacting the coaches, student-athletes, SNU employees and outside persons with whom they interact.
4. Needs to passionately support and articulate the University Mission.
5. Must have at least a bachelor’s degree in an applicable field.
