Job Overview

Assist the Head Coach of Cross Country and Track & Field with all aspects of coaching and managing both programs. Perform services to support an active, student-oriented campus environment while complying with national, local, university, NCAA and conference laws, regulations, standards and codes. Area of expertise in cross country and distance events.

Responsibilities:

  1. Coaching, Training, Instruction - Perform as a professional educator and role model to enable individual students to develop as student-athletes and to work together as a successful, competitive intercollegiate team.
  2. Recruitment - Assist the recruitment of student-athletes who demonstrate the potential to be successful academically and by contributing to the cross country/track & field programs.
  3. Academic Oversight - Mentor and monitor the academic success of the student-athletes
  4. Compliance - Ensure compliance with national, local, university, NCAA, Landmark Conference laws, regulations, standards and codes. (Note: The violation of NCAA and conference rules is prohibited and may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination).
  5. Equipment Room - Provide staffing assistance in the equipment room.
  6. Special Events - Be involved with and/or supervise special events (i.e. recruiting, alumni events etc.)

Qualifications:

  1. A Bachelor's Degree.
  2. A minimum of three (3) years coaching experience, college level preferred.
  3. USATF Level 1, USATF Level 2 or USTFCCCA Event Specialist preferred.
  4. CPR, First Aid, AED preferred.
