Central York School District (CYSD) is seeking a passionate and dedicated Anticipated Full-Time Health Education and Physical Education Teacher to join our team for the 2025/2026 school year at Central York High School. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in teaching high school students, with expertise in both health education and physical education. This includes fostering lifelong physical fitness, personal wellness, informed decision-making, and respect through dynamic and developmentally appropriate instruction. 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Provide for the planning and delivery of instruction to assigned students in accordance with the Board adopted planned courses.
2. Maintain current certification and up-to-date knowledge of subject matter, instructional strategies, classroom management techniques, and technology and materials.
3. Help to maintain a healthy and positive school environment by observation, analysis, and remediation of potential problem areas.
4. Provide for overall supervision and behavior management in areas of assignment.
5. Participate in the process of curriculum development, selection of materials, staff development, public information and communication with parents as appropriate to the role of a professional employee.
6. Support the total program of curriculum and co-curricular activities in areas of established skill, expertise, and background.
7. Maintain professional decorum in all interactions with parents, students, and the public.
8. Provide for referral services to students to access counseling, health and other related services available through the school.
9. Provide reports on student progress as required by the Administration.

Qualifications:

1. Appropriate PA Certification for all areas of assignment required.
2. Pedagogical skills necessary to develop the instructional program.
3. Must have obtained (or will obtain) valid PA Criminal, PA Child Abuse and FBI Criminal History Background Checks within the last twelve (12) months.
