Job Overview

The Head Coach is responsible for developing student-athletes in the sport of Girls Soccer at all levels of the program (middle and high school). Additional responsibilities include developing regular practice schedules, recruiting and mentoring assistant and lower-level coaches as needed, and collaborating with the Athletic Department to maintain a competitive and well-rounded program.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Develop student-athletes through safe and effective drills, skills, strategies, and lesson planning.
  2. Motivate and support student-athletes using positive reinforcement.
  3. Provide off-season training opportunities to improve individual and team performance.
  4. Track daily attendance and communicate with student-athletes and parents regarding absences.
  5. Monitor athlete eligibility per Mid-Pacific, ILH, and HHSAA regulations.
  6. Maintain and secure all equipment; report any broken or unsafe items to the Athletic Department.
  7. Assist with issuing and returning team uniforms and equipment.
  8. Monitor academic performance to support student success.
  9. Communicate team equipment and supply needs to the Athletic Department.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Must hold or be willing to obtain valid CPR/First Aid/AED certification.
  2. Preferred: Proven experience as a successful and motivating head coach with excellent communication skills.
