Job Overview
The Assistant Elementary Soccer Coach will support the Head Coach in organizing, leading, and promoting a safe, positive, and engaging soccer program for elementary students. The Assistant Coach will help foster teamwork, skill development, sportsmanship, and a love of the game among young athletes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in planning and conducting practices, games, and team activities under the direction of the Head Coach.
- Teach basic soccer skills, strategies, and rules in an age-appropriate and encouraging manner.
- Supervise student-athletes before, during, and after practices and games.
- Promote safety by ensuring proper use of equipment and adherence to training guidelines.
- Encourage teamwork, effort, and good sportsmanship.
- Help manage team logistics (e.g., attendance, equipment, game-day prep).
- Communicate effectively and professionally with athletes, families, and school staff.
- Serve as a positive role model and mentor for elementary students.
- Attend required meetings, training sessions, and school events related to the soccer program.
Qualifications:
- Experience working with children in an instructional, coaching, or supervisory capacity preferred.
- Basic knowledge of soccer rules, techniques, and safety practices.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with the Head Coach and school personnel.
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Must pass background check and meet all district coaching requirements.
