As the Assistant Coach - Hitting, you will be responsible for overseeing assigned aspects of our varsity baseball program. Program-specific duties include teaching technique, running drills, modeling the philosophies and values associated with the program, building positive relationships with a roster of athletes from grades 9-12, and supporting with meet and tournament management, both home and away, in a professional manner. 

Essential Functions:

1. Educates individuals, groups, or teams on the rules, strategies, and techniques for assigned athletics program.
2. Assists head coach in organizing and leading practice sessions.
3. Trains, encourages, and motivates athletes to prepare them for games and competitive events.
4. Teaches safety rules and regulations and ensures they are enforced.
5. Develops physical conditioning programs that equip athletes to meet their potential.
6. Evaluates team members to determine fitness levels and potential; advises the head coach on assigning positions or roles to athletes based on strengths and weaknesses.
7. Ensures athletes are using equipment properly and safely.
8. Identifies the strengths and weaknesses of players and modifies coaching strategies accordingly.
9. Remains current on changes in rules, coaching philosophies and techniques, and technology relevant to assigned athletics program.
10. Other duties as assigned.
