Assistant Football Coach
Towson University
The Assistant Football Coach will organize, conduct, and supervise all aspects of the given position for the football program to include the following: skill instruction, practices, competition preparation, competition day coaching, and participation within designated conference and NCAA meetings. Additional responsibilities include:
• Recruiting and evaluating prospective student-athletes through the use of New Media Technologies
• Organizing official visits, including assigning hosts, creating travel itineraries, and managing all budgetary elements of visits while adhering to all NCAA regulations
• Tracking all admissions through the application process of our prospective student-athletes
• Providing instruction to student-athlete hosts on department/NCAA policies & procedures for a visit
• Assisting with academic support, fundraising activities, and community servicing, including communication and outreach to alumni
• Adhering to NCAA rules
• Completing recruiting logs and other end-of-year summaries and correspondence within and in coordination with the Compliance Office
• Performing other administrative duties as assigned by the Head Football Coach
This position will need to be available during evenings and weekends. Travel is required.
• Bachelor’s degree and two years of coaching experience at the college, high school, professional, club/clinic level, or graduate assistant level
• Ability to train and recruit at the Division I collegiate level
• Ability to accept and carry out assigned programs and responsibilities
• Ability to pass the NCAA recruiting test and have a thorough understanding of NCAA rules and regulations
• Ability to work collaboratively within the structure and framework of an Athletics Department and university
• Effective communication while working well with students, parents, faculty, staff, alumni, and the community
• Must demonstrate a commitment to high academic standards for student-athletes and their ability to succeed both academically and athletically
• A demonstrated commitment to building a positive team culture, and commitment to the personal and professional development of student-athletes
