Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach

This position reports to the head women’s basketball coach and will assist in all facets of operating an accomplished Division I women’s basketball program. Basketball duties include instruct, train and coach women student-athletes about the collegiate game and skills development, instruct student-athletes for purposes of academic, social development, compliance requirements, and safety and health considerations, recruit quality student-athletes, assist the head coach in leadership in matters such as team composition, competition strategies and peak performance.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Experience in coaching successful basketball teams.
- Able to work flexible hours as well as many evenings, weekends and some holidays.
- Have a valid state issued driver’s license, maintain a low risk driving record and be insurable by the university.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience as a previous Division I student-athlete.
- Able to demonstrate a good knowledge of NCAA rules.
- Two or more years of college coaching and college recruiting experience.
- Able to demonstrate successful leadership ability, including effective verbal and interpersonal communication skills with staff and student-athletes from diverse backgrounds.
- Able to demonstrate excellent technical knowledge of intercollegiate basketball.
