Athletic Coordinator

GENERAL STATEMENT OF JOB
This classification oversees the daily operations and staff of the assigned recreation center.
Essential Functions
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Oversees and supervises the activities of subordinate staff and volunteers,
• Trains employees in assigned areas of responsibility; plans and conducts in-service training programs,
• Oversee records on senior activities, attendance, and other pertinent information,
• Assists with the maintenance of the facility, including, inspecting the condition of facilities and grounds, performing general housekeeping and maintenance duties, and submitting work orders for maintenance or repairing of major items,
• Manages fee collection, accounting activities, and program registration in assigned areas; reviews, records, and files to ensure proper accounting and documentation consistent with the department’s policies and procedures,
• Assist in the planning, scheduling, and implementation of a variety of tennis programs, activities, and special events as needed, Works collaboratively with other departments; confers regularly with other supervisors and managers,
• Conducts quarterly reports and ensures programs are properly maintained for optimal safety,
• Conducts research to identify programs of value and interest to the community; evaluates program effectiveness and viability; makes recommendations on new programs or modifications of existing programs to meet community needs.
• Performs other related duties as required.
• Requires a valid state driver’s license with acceptable driving history.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND TRAINING
• Requires an Associate degree in Health, Physical Education, Recreation, or a related field
• Three (3) years of experience with senior programming.
• Must possess and maintain CPR and First Aid certifications.
• Possessing and maintaining additional certifications may be required depending on the area of assignment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND STANDARDS REQUIRED
This position classifies the physical exertion requirements has ability to exert moderate, though not constant physical effort, typically involving some combination of climbing and balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and prolonged standing, and which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of objects and materials of moderate weight (12-20 pounds). Some tasks require the ability to perceive and discriminate colors or shades of colors, sounds, odor, depth, texture, and visual cues or signals. Some tasks require the ability to communicate orally. Performance of essential functions may require exposure to adverse environmental conditions, such as dirt, dust, pollen, odors, wetness, humidity, rain, fumes, smoke, temperature and noise extremes, hazardous materials, machinery, vibrations, electric currents, traffic hazards, bright/dim lights, toxic agents, water hazards.
