Brentwood School District is seeking a passionate Athletic and Activities Director to lead and oversee extracurricular programs. The ideal candidate will have experience in education, athletics, or student activities and a strong ability to build authentic relationships with students, families, and staff. This leader will foster an inclusive and engaging culture where students have opportunities to participate, grow, and succeed, while collaborating closely with coaches, sponsors, and school leaders to promote sportsmanship, school spirit, and academic balance.

The Athletic and Activities Director will coordinate schedules, manage budgets, and ensure compliance with district and state policies while supporting and mentoring coaches and activity sponsors. Through strong communication, organization, and a commitment to integrity and inclusivity, this leader will help create a vibrant extracurricular program that promotes teamwork, leadership, and pride in Brentwood’s school community.

Description

JOB/POSITION SUMMARY: The Athletic/Activities Director provides leadership, oversight, and management of the high school and middle school athletic programs, extracurricular activities, and student organizations. This position ensures that all programs align with the district’s educational mission, emphasizing the development of student-athletes, fostering school spirit, and maintaining compliance with all state and conference regulations. The Athletic/Activities Director collaborates with coaches, sponsors, families, and the community to promote a culture of excellence, teamwork, and sportsmanship.

REPORTS TO: Superintendent of Schools

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
• Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university required
• Successful teaching experience required
• Previous experience as a coach, athletic director, or school activities administrator preferred
• Secondary school administration experience preferred

CERTIFICATES/LICENSES:
• Valid Missouri Teaching Certificate required
• Valid Missouri School Administration Certificate preferred
• Certified Athletic Administrator (CAA) designation preferred or willingness to obtain

JOB CLASSIFICATION: Certified

SHIFT TYPE: Full-Time

SCHEDULE: 260 days, 8 hours/day

SALARY: Competitive annual salary commensurate with experience.
