Position Overview:
The Hasbrouck Heights School District seeks a dynamic and organized educational leader to serve as Athletic Director for Hasbrouck Heights High School. The Athletic Director is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the interscholastic athletic program, ensuring that it promotes student-athlete development, sportsmanship, and compliance with district policies and NJSIAA regulations. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with coaches, students, staff, parents, and community members to maintain a strong and competitive athletic program that reflects the values of the district.
Responsibilities:
• Provide leadership and supervision for all high school interscholastic athletic programs.
• Recruit, supervise, and evaluate athletic coaches.
• Coordinate and schedule athletic contests, transportation, officials, and facility use.
• Ensure compliance with all district policies, NJSIAA regulations, and applicable state and federal requirements.
• Oversee athletic program budgets, equipment inventory, and purchasing.
• Promote academic achievement, sportsmanship, and positive student-athlete experiences.
• Work collaboratively with school administration, guidance staff, and athletic trainers to support student-athlete eligibility and well-being.
• Coordinate athletic events, including game supervision and site management.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, coaches, and community stakeholders.
• Represent the district at league meetings and athletic conferences.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Valid New Jersey Administrative Certificate, Supervisor Certificate, or eligibility for appropriate certification preferred.
• Previous experience in athletic administration, coaching, or school leadership preferred.
• Knowledge of NJSIAA regulations and interscholastic athletics administration.
• Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
• Experience supervising and evaluating personnel.
• Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive, and student-centered athletic culture.
Salary Range: $130,000.00-$160,000.00 (commensurate with experience)
Terms of Employment:
12-month position. Salary and benefits in accordance with Hasbrouck Heights Administrators Association CBA and experience.
