Edinburg, Texas, The Student Athlete Academic Success Advisor plays a vital role in providing academic support to at-risk student-athletes within the athletic department. Collaborating closely with the Athletic Academic Support staff and department administrator, this individual coordinates with the Academic Advising Center and other Student Success staff to ensure the specific academic needs of student-athletes are met effectively. Responsibilities include assisting in supporting student-athlete health and wellness, community engagement, leadership and professional development. The Advisor actively participates in various phases of student-athlete academic support, from recruitment to enrollment, providing guidance on NCAA eligibility and institutional graduation requirements. Conducting regular academic meetings with at-risk student-athletes, preparing academic roadmaps, and supervising study hall sessions are key responsibilities. Additionally, the Advisor monitors academic progress, provides missed class reports, and facilitates academic progress reporting. This role may involve referring student-athletes for mental health assessments based on established guidelines. The Advisor also serves as an active member of the NCAA Certification Team, ensuring compliance with NCAA regulations. Other duties as assigned contribute to the overall success of the academic support program. Required:  Bachelor’s degree from an accredited University.  Experience working with students. 
Preferred:  Experience working within a collegiate athletic department within the assigned capacity.
