Assistant Coaches are responsible for supporting Everett Community College’s intercollegiate sports. Assistant Coaches promote a strong team culture, maintain high standards of conduct, and support the Head Coaches in providing student-athletes with a quality educational and athletic experience.

TITLE: Assistant Coach
SALARY: $3,344.80 stipend
DEPARTMENT: Athletics
REPORTS TO: Director of Athletics
This position is not eligible for hybrid work location, per Everett Community College’s Telework Policy
Coaching
• Support the assigned intercollegiate athletics program, including training, practice, skill development, competition strategy, and in-game coaching.
• Uphold team standards that promote discipline, accountability, and competitive success.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to support player development and team performance.
• Uphold the EvCC Coaches Code of Conduct, including items related to preparation, participation, and sportsmanship.
Program Operations
• Support team logistics including practice schedules, travel arrangements, equipment inventory, and facility needs.
• Adhere to all Northwest Athletic Conference (NWAC), College, and department rules and policies.
• Support fundraising, community service, and outreach efforts to build program visibility and engagement.
• Participate in athletic department, conference, and sport-specific meetings.
General Duties
• Perform other duties as assigned to support departmental operations and meet the needs of the campus.
Required Education and Experience:
• Prior experience coaching competitive athletics at the high school, club, or collegiate level, or equivalent experience.
• Valid Washington State Driver’s License held for at least one year.
• First Aid, CPR, and AED certification required within 30 days of hire and maintained throughout employment.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Knowledge of rules, policies, and procedures of the Northwest Athletic Conference (NWAC) or similar intercollegiate governing body.
• Understanding of coaching principles, player development, and team operations.
• Ability to recruit, mentor, and support student-athletes with diverse skill levels and backgrounds.
• Strong communication skills in both individual and group settings.
Preferred
• Experience coaching at the community college level.
• Experience teaching or mentoring in an educational or athletic setting.
• Education and/or certifications related to coaching, training, or student-athlete development.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
• Three (3) month contract; days/times vary by team schedule
• Overtime eligible; FLSA non-exempt
• Position is subject to Everett Community College policies and procedures.
• Represented by American Federation of Teachers (AFT) Collective Bargaining Agreement
• Performance will be evaluated in accordance with the AFT Collective Bargaining Agreement
