Provide for maintenance of sound school discipline consistent with a positive school environment and maximum time on task for students and staff. Establish and maintain effective communication with parents and the community, encouraging their participation and support. Provide for the equitable direction, supervision, and evaluation of assigned certified and classified personnel. Provide for the effective management and maintenance of the school plant consistent with available resources. Ensure the timely and efficient implementation and application of all laws, policies, and procedures governing the school’s operations. Perform such duties as may be assigned by the principal. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Employees in this position perform some or all of the following tasks. Other duties may be assigned. 1. Follows and maintains knowledge of all District policy(ies) and procedures. 2. Assumes responsibility for the scheduling of all interscholastic athletic events. 3. Supervises and directs the coaching staff to ensure that proper practice schedules are maintained and that GHSA rules are adhered to by all athletic teams. 4. Arranges for officials and assumes general responsibility for the proper supervision of home games. 5. Manages athletic events, including set-up and clean-up, ensuring that events are safe. 6. Supervises the coaches in the cleaning, storage, and maintenance of all athletic equipment and uniforms, including the maintenance of updated inventories. 7. Evaluates the athletic programs. 8. Arranges transportation for athletic participants. 9. Develops and implements appropriate rules and regulations governing the conduct of athletic activities, participants, and observers. 10. Ensures adherence to medical and safety requirements. 11. Assists in the hiring process of all coaching positions and evaluates coaches by providing input to the principal. 12. Maintains necessary records and completes required paperwork in a specified time and manner. 13. Ensures that proper form(s) (insurance, attendance, medical) are obtained and current for students. 14. Ensures that all student-athletes are academically eligible. 15. Participates effectively at regular team meetings with teachers and other support staff using appropriate social skills, problem-solving, and conflict resolution strategies. 16. Coordinates all athletics-related services, including rosters, bus requests, scheduling officials and coordinating with coaches. 17. Serves as the school athletic liaison between the region, local, and state athletic authorities. 18. Facilitates meetings with coaches and staff. 19. Maintains a safe environment for students at all times. 20. Responds to personnel issues for the purpose of clarifying issues and implementing actions to address needs. 21. Interacts thoughtfully and courteously with students, staff, and parents and resolves conflict in a professional manner. 22. Appropriately maintains and secures confidential records and inquiries. 23. Professionally represents the school and the District in interactions with parents, community, staff, and students. 24. Maintains appropriate certifications and training hours as required. 25. Attends work regularly and is punctual. REQUIRED EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, OR TRAINING: L-5 certification in Educational Leadership or T-5 certification in any field and a passing score on the GACE Leadership Assessment, which requires completion of an Educational Leadership program within 3 years. REQUIRED SKILLS: Educational background and practical knowledge of the most effective practices in curriculum, instructional management and planning, child development, and general school administration. Proficiency required in oral and written communications and interpersonal relations, competency in organizing, planning, and evaluating. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: Successful teaching and leadership experience.
