Full-TimeCoaching

On-site at Alpha School campuses in New York City, NY; San Francisco, CA; or Santa Barbara, CA$150,000 annual salary, paid weekly. Health benefits begin on day one.Relocation support available

You believe refusing to lower the bar is the kindest thing you can do for a student. You’ve achieved at a level most people only read about—elite athletics, a top-tier university with distinction, a highly selective firm, or a venture you built from the ground up. Now imagine channeling that intensity into a room full of K-12 students who’ve never had someone with your credentials in their corner, pushing them to standards they didn’t know existed. If the idea of holding students to elite standards feels harsh to you, this isn’t the right role.

Alpha leverages AI-powered 1-on-1 learning to help students master core academics in roughly two hours per day. That frees the remainder of the day for life skills, passion-driven pursuits, and genuine development. At Alpha’s most demanding campuses, students require more than oversight. They need a trusted mentor whose personal achievements set the benchmark: someone capable of reading the room, establishing the tone, and coaching them through resistance, distraction, and self-doubt.

Your role isn’t to teach. It’s to coach, challenge, and hold students to the same rigorous standards you’ve applied to yourself. Forty percent of your time is spent in direct 1-on-1 and small-group coaching sessions that identify obstacles and establish ambitious goals. Another forty percent involves leading structured life-skills workshops designed for mastery, not entertainment. The final twenty percent is dedicated to setting each day’s tone: focused kickoffs that build a culture where mediocrity isn’t acceptable.

The trajectory here is depth, not management. You begin by mastering Alpha’s playbook and earning credibility with students. Within months, you become the person they trust enough to push them beyond what they believed possible. The reward isn’t a title change. It’s witnessing a student who couldn’t make eye contact in September present with confidence to a room full of adults in May.

If you’ve been searching for a way to make your elite background matter beyond your own resume, apply now.

What You Will Be Doing

Conducting 1-on-1 and small-group coaching sessions using Coachbot analytics and student progress data to identify blockers, establish ambitious goals, and ensure students remain accountable for executionLeading structured life-skills workshops designed for mastery using credible narratives from your own elite experience, then evaluating mastery through Alpha’s Test2Pass systemEstablishing the cultural tone each morning through focused kickoffs that reinforce high-performance standards across the campusMonitoring student progress in real time and modifying coaching approaches based on data, not intuitionDeveloping trusted mentor relationships with students and families through high standards, consistency, and documented motivation plans

What You Won’t Be Doing

Creating lesson plans, designing curriculum, or grading assignments (Alpha’s academic model manages instruction; you manage motivation)Lecturing to a classroom of 30 students (your work is high-touch coaching in small settings, not broadcast teaching)Managing other staff or advancing up an administrative ladder (this role focuses on direct student impact, not organizational hierarchy)Attending faculty meetings or navigating school bureaucracy (your time remains focused on students)Lowering standards to meet metrics (if a student achieved 99%, your job is to determine what prevented them from reaching 100%)
