About the position

Under the direction of the Senior Associate Athletics Director for Sports Medicine, the Head Football Athletic Trainer/Associate Director of Sports Medicine assists in the development and implementation of a training program for the prevention of injuries to student-athletes, administers first-aid and emergency medical care, treats injuries, and provides rehabilitation according to authorized medical directions. This position will be responsible for supervising the athletic training staff and interns assigned to the Football program. The incumbent must be able to coordinate and work collaboratively with a group of multidisciplinary medical providers in the pursuit of providing broad-based health care for our Football program (~110 student athletes).

Familiarity with NCAA best practices regarding supplements and health and safety of student-athletesOutstanding communication and interpersonal skills requiredExcellent organizational skillsAbility to: Work cooperatively with coaches, multi-disciplinary medical providers, staff, faculty, student-athletes, parents, and members of the communityAppropriately handle confidential and sensitive informationWork confidently and effectively in a high-stress environmentExercise professional independent judgment and discretionPerform all duties with integrity and professionalismBachelors and/or Master’s degree from an accredited four-year institution with an Athletic Training, Kinesiology or Health-related major course of study.Minimum of five years of experience as an athletic trainer at the Division I collegiate levelBenefits
