Overview
Findlay City Schools is seeking a passionate, motivated, and student-centered Strength and Conditioning Coach to lead and develop a comprehensive strength and conditioning program for student-athletes at Findlay High School. This individual will play a critical role in enhancing athletic performance, reducing injury risk, and fostering a culture of excellence, discipline, and accountability across all athletic programs. The Head Strength Trainer will collaborate closely with coaches, administration, and student-athletes to support the overall success and well-being of students.

Responsibilities:

Design and implement year-round strength and conditioning programs for all athletic teamsCollaborate with the Athletic Director and head coaches to align training programs with sport-specific goalsSupervise and instruct student-athletes in proper lifting techniques, safety protocols, and injury prevention strategiesMonitor and evaluate athlete progress through performance testing, data tracking, and program adjustmentsMaintain, organize, and ensure the safety and cleanliness of the weight room and training facilitiesEnsure compliance with district policies and Ohio High School Athletic Association regulationsPromote character development, leadership, teamwork, and accountability among student-athletesProvide guidance and education on nutrition, recovery, and overall wellnessCoordinate scheduling and programming to support multi-sport athletesStay current with best practices and trends in strength and conditioningQualifications:

Required

Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Sports Performance, or a related fieldCurrent certification from a nationally recognized organization (e.g., CSCS, SCCC, NASM)Experience working with high school, collegiate, and/or professional athletesStrong communication, organizational, and leadership skillsAbility to meet all background check and coaching certification requirements as mandated by the State of Ohio and Findlay City SchoolsPreferred

Master’s degree in a related fieldPrevious experience leading or managing a comprehensive strength and conditioning programExperience using technology and software for performance tracking and data analysisDemonstrated ability to build positive relationships with students, coaches, and staffProven commitment to student development and a positive team culturePhysical Demands:

Ability to demonstrate and supervise strength training exercises, including lifting, spotting, and movement instructionFrequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting (up to 50 pounds or more)Ability to respond quickly in emergency situations and ensure student safetyCapacity to work extended hours, including early mornings, evenings, and occasional weekendsWorking Conditions:

Primarily conducted in indoor weight room and athletic training facilities, with occasional outdoor training sessionsExposure to varying temperatures and noise levels depending on training environmentFlexible schedule required to accommodate multiple sports seasons and team needsFrequent interaction with students, coaches, and staff in a fast-paced, team-oriented environmentEEO Disclaimer
