There is a Strength and Conditioning Advisor position for Mansfield City Schools for the 2025-2026 school year.
Overview
The High School Strength and Conditioning Coach is responsible for developing and supervising safe, effective, and age-appropriate training programs that enhance athletic performance, reduce injury risk, and support the physical development of student-athletes. This position works collaboratively with coaches, athletic trainers, and school administrators to foster a positive, disciplined, and educational training environment. The terms and conditions of employment for this position are established by the organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Design and implement strength, speed, agility, and conditioning programs for all athletic teams
Instruct student-athletes on proper lifting techniques, movement mechanics, and weight room safety
Supervise all strength training sessions before, during, and after school
Collaborate with sports coaches to align training programs with seasonal goals
Emphasize injury prevention, mobility, flexibility, and recovery strategies
Track athlete progress and modify programs as needed
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe weight room environment
Educate athletes on basic principles of nutrition, hydration, and healthy lifestyle habits
Enforce school policies, conduct standards, and safety procedures
Serve as a mentor and positive role model for student-athletes
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Physical Education, or related field (preferred)
National strength and conditioning certification (CSCS, SCCC, NASM, or equivalent preferred)
Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification
Experience working with high school or youth athletes preferred
Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills
Ability to work effectively with students, coaches, and school staff
Physical Requirements
Ability to demonstrate exercises and proper lifting techniques
Ability to lift and move equipment (50 or more pounds)
Ability to stand and move for extended periods
Work Schedule
Hours vary based on team needs, including before/after school and summer sessions
Evenings or weekends will be expected
