JOB SUMMARY:

The Assistant Athletic Director at Lake Worth Christian School provides leadership, organization, and support for the school’s athletic department while advancing the mission and values of the school through athletics. Working in partnership with the Athletic Director, this individual assists in coordinating and managing athletic programs, coaches, student-athletes, facilities, and athletic operations. The Assistant Athletic Director helps foster a Christ-centered environment that promotes spiritual growth, sportsmanship, leadership, and athletic excellence for all students.

RESPONSIBILITIES FOR SUPERVISION AND SCHEDULING

Athletic Program Coordination and Supervision

Assist with scheduling athletic events and competitions, as assigned.

Secure officials for home athletic contests, as assigned.

Coordinate and supervise game management staff, including admissions, clock operations, and event personnel.

Oversee ticket sales, athletic programs, and concessions during athletic events.

Develop and implement marketing strategies for games, practices, and tryouts.

Establish and implement continuous improvement processes within assigned areas of responsibility.

Demonstrate strong organizational skills in scheduling compatible opponents and coordinating athletic activities.

Serve as a visible and accessible resource for staff, students, and parents regarding athletics.

Submit reports and required documentation accurately and promptly.

Observe and evaluate coaches, as assigned, providing recommendations for growth and improvement.

Coordinate and oversee all elementary intramural sports programs.

Serve as Lead Game Administrator for athletic contests, as assigned.

Monitor and check daily attendance for in-season student-athletes.

Perform additional duties as assigned by the Superintendent and Athletic Director.

Facilities, Operations, and Resource Management

Assist in determining the maintenance and operational needs of athletic facilities.

Purchase, organize, and maintain required athletic equipment and supplies.

Assist the Athletic Director in developing and supervising the athletic budget with principal approval.

Assist with the management and oversight of the Home Campus athletic facilities.

Help maintain a safe, healthy, and positive environment for student-athletes, coaches, and spectators.

Assist in the upkeep, cleanliness, and maintenance of athletic facilities and programs.

Foster positive relationships among administration, coaching staff, faculty, students, and families.

Ensure athletic programs and facilities maintain high standards of safety and organization.

Spiritual Leadership, Sportsmanship, and Community Relations

Promote and uphold a Christ-centered perspective on athletics that reflects the mission and values of Lake Worth Christian School.

Encourage spirituality, integrity, and sportsmanship among coaches, student-athletes, and spectators.

Demonstrate professionalism, poise, self-confidence, and the ability to work effectively with others.

Maintain a positive attitude and professional appearance at all athletic events and school functions.

Attend athletic events regularly and maintain punctuality and professionalism.

Participate in conferences, workshops, seminars, and clinics at the local, regional, state, and national levels, as assigned.

Maintain and oversee athletic social media platforms, Gipper, and website updates.

Coordinate and oversee the Student Athlete of the Month program.

Continue professional growth through staff development, professional reading, research, advanced education, and professional associations.

Required Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree preferred in Sports Management, Physical Education, Educational Leadership, or a related field.

Experience in athletic administration, coaching, or school athletics preferred.

Experience working in a Christian school environment preferred.

Strong understanding of athletic operations, event management, and student-athlete development.

Ability to motivate and support coaches and student-athletes while promoting teamwork and character development.

Physical Requirements:

Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, and hear.

Must operate computers, hand-held learning devices, and other office equipment.

Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.

This full-time position has responsibilities that may include evening and weekend work for practices, games, and special events.
