Join our team as a Varsity Assistant Football Coach and help support a competitive and student-focused athletic program. This position assists the head coach in planning and conducting practices, developing game strategies, and mentoring student-athletes both on and off the field. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong communication skills, a commitment to sportsmanship, and the ability to build positive relationships with players, staff, and the school community. Prior coaching experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Carry out the aims and objectives of the sport program as outlined by the Head Coach. To instruct athletes in individual and team fundamentals, strategy, and physical training necessary for them to realize a degree of individual and team success.
Assist head coach with issues, collection and the overall care of uniforms, and equipment;
Distribute and collect parent permission forms, records of physical exams, and other paperwork required by the athletic department;
Secure school facilities and equipment after each use;
Supervise athletes at all times, including games (home and away), practices, and other team functions;
Review the student athletic handbook with team members, with special attention being given to academic eligibility and substance abuse policies;
Promote the proper care of equipment, uniforms, and facilities at all times;
Cooperate with head coach and other staff members and discuss confidential matters privately with appropriate personnel;
Strive to improve coaching skills by attending clinics and using resources provided by the head coach;
Perform additional tasks as directed.

Qualifications

Effective interpersonal and organizational skills.
Previous coaching experience preferred.
