8th Grade Head Football Coach

Work as West Middle School Head Football Coach. Coach athletic team, work and coordinate with other coaching staff.

Qualifications:

• Previous middle school or high school coaching and/or competitive Football experience.
• Availability to practice Monday through Friday 2:30 to 5:30 PM.
• Ability to communicate, foster, and maintain positive relationships with students, other coaches, administrators, boosters, and parents.
• Knowledge of to MHSAA rules and regulations.
• Knowledge of current training methods that are proven effective through research.
• Willingness to teach athletic basic skills of events for football, including offense and defense.
• Must possess and help athletes build strong character and sportsmanship skills.
• Possess good motivational skills and patience to work with middle school students.
• Must undergo a fingerprinting and criminal background check.
• Will be asked to ride a bus with the team for away contest (early release is around 2:20-2:30 in the afternoon)
• May perform other duties as assigned by the Head Coach.
• Regular and consistent attendance.
• Must have knowledge of and comply with the policies and procedures contained in the Portage Public Schools Handbook.
