Description
The Adapted Athletics Coach overs all team practices (coaching and training), weight training, sporting events, team auditions, recruitment, tournaments and fundraising events. Provides guidance, trains, and/or may supervise other coaching staff.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology, Human Performance, or Exercise Science and six (6) years of experience coaching and/or playing adapted athletic sport;
- Master's degree in Kinesiology, Human Performance, or Exercise Science and four (4) years of experience coaching and/or playing adapted athletic sports.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Collegiate strength and conditioning coaching experience.
- Adapted or Disability Sport strength and conditioning coaching experience.
- Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) via the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) and/or Strength & Conditioning Coach Certified (SCCC) via the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association. CPR/First Aid Certified.
- Demonstrated ability to plan and conduct daily high performance strength and conditioning sessions.
- Demonstrated ability to supervise a strength and conditioning facility.
- Ability to represent the University at official functions.
