Adaptive Physical Education Teacher

Key Responsibilities:

• Program Development: Develop and implement individualized adaptive physical education programs for students with disabilities based on their unique needs, abilities, and goals.
• Instruction: Provide engaging and inclusive physical education instruction that accommodates diverse learning styles and abilities.
• Assessment: Conduct ongoing assessments to evaluate students' progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
• Collaboration: Collaborate with classroom teachers, special education staff, therapists, and other professionals to support the holistic development of students with disabilities.
• Inclusion: Promote inclusivity and create a supportive and welcoming environment where all students feel valued and empowered to participate in physical activities.
• Adaptations: Modify equipment, rules, and activities as necessary to ensure accessibility and safety for students with disabilities.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in physical education, Special Education, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
• Valid teaching certification/license in Physical Education or Special Education Experience working with students with disabilities in an educational or recreational setting.
• Adapted Physical Education (Cl-623) Added Authorization.
• Knowledge of adaptive physical education principles, techniques, and strategies.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to differentiate instruction and tailor lessons to meet individual student needs.
• Commitment to promoting inclusion, diversity, and equity in physical education.
