Anticipated Athletic Director

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or Athletic Sports Administration;
• 1-3 years supervisory and administrative experience;
• Experience in the daily operation of sports programs at the secondary or post-secondary level;
• Master’s degree preferred in athletics/sports administration or business administration.

Essential Functions:

• Will report directly to the Superintendent of the Ringgold School District;
• Keep the High School and Middle School principals informed of all respective athletic related issues;
• Provide leadership for the athletic department and place it in the proper educational perspective;
• Evaluate the program and coaches, always seeking ways to improve interscholastic athletics;
• Resolve conflicts that may develop from time to time within the ranks of the athletic department;
• Keep informed of the rules and regulations of the total athletic program;
• The athletic director (or their designee) will be present at all home ticketed events. The athletic director should be present as much as possible for each of the remaining high school sports;
• Administer and enforce appropriate rules and regulations governing the student code of conduct for athletes;
• Meet monthly with other TRICADA and Big 8 athletic directors concerning league business and extended scheduling;
• Maintain an active athletic program that promotes sportsmanship;
• Welcome the competing teams and fans as guests of the Ringgold School District.
