As a full-time aquatics lead for the YMCA, you will implement association curriculum providing progression through the aquatics program for youth participants and communicate regularly with parents and members. The primary responsibilities include regularly lifeguarding, providing quality swim instruction, and general support of the efficient operation of the aquatics area. The individual selected for this role will assist onboard and train staff while ensuring staff records and certifications are up to date. You will implement quality programs and services like swim instruction, aquatics classes, vacation programs, and special events by coordinating schedules and supporting member requests. Through dynamic planning, high-quality engagement, staff development, and direct service, you will be responsible for off-site pools/waterfronts, aquatics focused safety, participant skill development, increasing member engagement, and impact in our communities.
Additionally, the individual selected will act as Lead Site Coach for a competitive swim team regularly running practices, instructing and supporting competitive youth swimmers, attending meets and practices. In this role, you will provide leadership to the team and motivation for participants as they progress through skills.
