Description
Job Functions:
- Conduct practices/classes in a safe, friendly, environment.
- Provide an encouraging, and supportive environment for the participants.
- Plan & coordinate practices and program activities.
- Promote participation.
- Correct skill and work to enhance the ability and endurance of participants.
- Maintain open communication to identify concerns, duties, and responsibilities.
- Communicate program goals, time frame, plans and direction in a timely manner prior to program start with Assistant Director of Parks and Rec.
- Maintain proper supervision of participants during scheduled practices/classes.
- Be prepared for all practices.
Education, Training and Experience:
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must hold current certifications in First Aid, CPR and AED.
- Must have considerable ability as a swimmer plus knowledge of teaching these skills and safety considerations during practice.
- Must be motivated and have a positive attitude.
- Sound physical and mental health.
- Previous coaching experience preferred.
