Description
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Actively engage the Catholic Franciscan mission and identity of Marian University by modeling the Franciscan Sponsorship Values and honoring the legacy of the founding congregation through transformative education, unity in diversity, leadership through service, integrating faith and life, and institutional policies.
- Ensure student-athletes are aware and utilize Student Support & Engagement services/programs that offer success coaching, address academic and personal concerns, and support a sense of belonging.
- Link all student-athletes with ACMU’s Coordinator of Academic Advising & faculty advisors, Coordinator of Academic Support Services, Director of Career Development, and Coordinator of Student Achievement Center who collaboratively supports students’ success with transition to college, navigating the college process, learning strategies, and time management.
- Assist student-athletes in utilizing ACMU’s resources and navigating university policies & procedures.
- Collaborate in the implementation of early intervention and retention programs for student-athletes.
- Continuously connect student-athletes with on-campus resources including: tutoring, supplemental instruction, career coaching, advising, health services, and counseling services.
Qualifications:
- Commitment to student service and support of Marian University Ancilla College’s policy and procedures.
- Strong communication skills with supervisors, colleagues, high school athletic directors/coaches, students and student-athletes’ parents.
- Experience in developing and implementing department goals, objectives, benchmarks, systems and action plans.
- Possess superior leadership skills to meet department productivity standards.
- Proven ability to develop, train, and motivate an athletic department and teams.
- Demonstrated experience in budgeting, strategic planning, and athletic recruitment.
