Description
Shady Side Academy (SSA) seeks an Assistant Athletic Director—a highly organized contributor with exceptional interpersonal skills. This integral leader with the Athletics Office is responsible for administering and supporting the planning, implementation, coordination, supervision, and evaluation of the Academy's athletic programs. Shady Side understands the value of athletics extends beyond the playing field.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assist with the oversight and administration of athletic department operations, including budgeting, safety programs, site inspections, ticket sales to ensure compliance with relevant requirements.
- Serve as the primary liaison between the athletic department and the senior and middle schools, coordinating with departments such as Transportation & Facilities, College Counseling, Dining, Resident Life, Marketing and Communications, Admissions, and the Dean of Students.
- Be present or arrange for a school representative to be present at all Senior School home events.
- Oversee the recruitment, evaluation, promotion, and termination processes for head coaches, assistant coaches, and volunteer coaches.
- Review all athletic exemption applications. Communicate/meet with students and/or parents if necessary to discuss applications.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- 5+ years experience with athletics administration.
- Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
