Description
The assistant athletic director supports the athletic director in the administration and management of the high school and middle school’s athletic programs. This role involves overseeing various aspects of the athletic department, including program development, compliance with regulations, budget management, and fostering a positive environment for student-athletes. The Assistant AD will work closely with coaches, student-athletes, parents, and the community to promote a culture of excellence in athletics.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the planning and execution of athletic events, including tournaments and fundraisers.
- Serve as site administrator for various athletic contests
- Assist in the planning, organization, and implementation of the athletic programs.
- Support the recruitment, hiring, and evaluation of coaching staff.
- Coordinate schedules for practices, games, and events.
- Ensure compliance with state and national athletic associations (e.g., NFHS, MIAA, governing bodies).
- Maintain accurate records of student-athlete eligibility and participation.
- Stay updated on changes in regulations and communicate them to coaches and staff.
- Oversee the procurement and maintenance of athletic equipment and facilities.
- Promote the academic success and personal development of student-athletes.
Requirements:
- Bachelor degree preferred.
- Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
