Responsible for the oversight of the physical education, fitness training and testing, intramurals, competitive clubs and intercollegiate programs for USAF Academy Preparatory School; and coordinates all major policy, strategic planning, personnel, public relations and financial decisions through the Athletic Director and Preparatory School Commander for final approval prior to implementation. Assist the Director of Athletics with mission and operational execution of the Athletic Department for ~240 cadet-candidates. Laisses and synchronize with USAFA Athletic Department leadership, 27 NCAA coaching staffs, fitness testing branch, reconditioning branch, and education branch to ensure consistent programming.
An earned Bachelor's degree (must be completed by application deadline) in any field and five years of successful full-time coaching experience. Coaching experience to include: creating schedules, sports instruction, recruiting prospective athletes, tracking of team activities compliance, budget management, and assisting with rehabilitation protocols for injured student athletes. Demonstrated priority of ensuring success of the student-athlete experience. All candidates must show potential for excellence in instructing physical education, professional coaching, and service.
Coaching and physical education teaching experience at the post graduate, Service Academy preparatory school and/or Division 1 collegiate level. Current certifications in CPR, AED, and first aid.
