Description
This position oversees department branding, creative content production, and digital platforms. This role serves as a hub and clearing house between several external units in Athletics, including Creative Services, Athletic Communications, Marketing, Learfield, ‘Cuse Athletics Fund and Ticketing, and also serves as a key contact point with University Marketing and Communications and Trademark Licensing. This position drives stakeholder engagement and brand loyalty.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- At least eight years of experience in a managing, editorial position in electronic media or other media, or collegiate sports information is preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. Must be on the cutting edge of technology and best practices in digital media, branding, deep understanding of Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and other social media platforms, and be proficient in the use of digital video, photography and graphic design.
Responsibilities:
- Direct strategy for department’s digital platforms, including website, social media, mobile app and video players. Establish guidelines and best practices for engagement and revenue generation across these platforms. Coordinate with units across the department and university to ensure all stakeholder interests are met. Supervise and direct the Digital Stategy & Content Coordinator position. Oversight of football and men’s basketball content planning, digital platforms strategy and collaboration with team-specific creative teams.
- Directly supervise the Creative Services unit, which includes three full-time videographers, one graphic designer and one photographer, as well as a student intern roster of approximately 25-30. This includes budget management, equipment, and overall direction of the unit. Setting priorities, goals and resource allocation for content creation being a key responsibility.
- Direct the brand presence for the Athletic Department. Set guidelines and standards for all department digital, print and advertising content to ensure an impactful and cohesive brand presence that maximizes public engagement, revenue generation and brand awareness. Serve as branding liaison for Athletics with university marketing and communications as well as university trademark licensing.
