Description
The Assistant Athletic Director for Business Operations is responsible for managing the daily business and financial operations of Chicago State University’s Department of Intercollegiate Athletics, this position serves as a fiscal officer for the Department of Athletics. This position is charged with working independently as well as collaboratively with campus Business and Finance units.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare financial analyses, forecasts and reports for internal and external constituents.
- Manage all fiscal documents, including purchase requisitions, purchase orders, accounts payable invoices, p-card transactions and related workflow.
- Develop and implement comprehensive financial, budgetary and reporting systems, policies and processes to allow for the rapid delivery of data while ensuring compliance with applicable rules and regulations.
- Ensure the veracity of financial data reported within all components of the athletics department.
- Oversee and maintain effective internal financial controls and policy compliance within the University’s athletics program.
- Engage in fiscal responsibility and accountability with transparency.
- Serve as departmental liaison for all internal and external audits for quality control and to reduce audit findings.
- Assist in the development and implementation of programs, policies and objectives related to the unit, and assist the director with overall management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Minimum of one (1) year experience as an athletic business manager or similar role.
